One of the city I visited in Japan was Kyoto, this city is totally different from Tokyo or Osaka I went to Kyoto from Tokyo by Shinkansen, it took about 2,5 hours. It is also possible go to Osaka by Shinkansen, it was about 2 stops after the Kyoto Station.

Kyoto is much more quite city, and probably peaceful. There is not so many people as like in Tokyo. There is no such a busy crossing like Shibuya, what I can saw was bicycles around, people walk, some authentic building, which was actually very nice to see. And, once I arrived in the station near my hotel, there was no lift at the station, so we had to carry all our luggage through the stairs!
Anyway, one tip while going around Kyoto, I don’t think it is necessary to buy the one day pass of the train, since Kyoto has several company for the train like Tokyo do, and based on my experience, there will be more walking rather than catching train. And by going on foot, you can enjoy Kyoto, and it is not that big city, it is a walk-able city (for me, lol). So, I don’t think there are many things to do in Kyoto, but we did take a one-day tour, and there are so many Shrines and Buddhist Temple in this city. The one-day tour in Kyoto brings us to several shrines and temple, as well as the palace where the Shogun lives.
Well, for me, I don’t really enjoy this tour actually because we visit (too) many Shrines and Temple, there are about 8 stops including temples, shrines and palaces in this tour.(you can visit the website to check the full itinerary https://goo.gl/xq1PZC). Rather than going to all of this temples and shrines one by one, I think you can just visit one or two directly. One of the temple I can recommend is Kiyomizu-Dera Temple, this is the best among all of the spots I visited.

Before reaching the top, we have to walk in this busy streets. The street was very nice, many sellers sell street food, mochi, takoyaki, and they are giving free tester! And I think the best time to visit this temple is in the sunset time, you see the photo above, so beautiful, isn’t it?
Beside Kiyomizu-Dera Temple, another famous shrines usually people visit is the Fushimi Inari Shrine, this one is the temple with kind of orange tunnel.
Besides taking one day tour, there is still some nice stuff to be enjoyed, you can walk around the city, and you can also walk along the river, it was Kamo River.
You can feel the wind and the breathtaking views, it was very nice to walk along the river.
Last thing that won’t be missed by the ladies is shopping. There is several market in Kyoto, and kind of shopping streets. One of the famous market is Nishiki Market, there are a lot of street food sellers here, but it closes quite early, so make sure you get there on time (I was too late, lol). Besides Nishiki, there is also others shopping streets and arcade, one of them that I visited was Teramachi Shopping Street.
This street quite complete, there are many stores to visit, but there are not that much street foods I guess compared to Nishiki. Overall, I was enjoying very much this city. Kyoto is very good for having your mind relax, as you can enjoy how people walk and cycle around the city, waling along the river, it’s very nice.
